Santek Managing Amherst County Landfill

AMHERST, Va. - Santek recently assumed operations of the Amherst County Landfill in Virginia, bringing the total number of Santek-managed landfills to 18.

The Amherst facility is the company’s second landfill in the Virginia Commonwealth. Amherst County will continue to own its landfill, but selected Santek as the new management company in a procurement process when the previous operator chose to retire.

Santek President Eddie Caylor said the Amherst facility is a good fit for the company.

“It’s exciting to be growing our book of business in the State of Virginia,” Caylor said. “We’ve eyed the Commonwealth state for a long time and our efforts are beginning to pay off. More local governments are becoming aware of Santek and the benefits of our public-private partnerships.”
